Notes For My Future Self

January 11, 2026

Something is coming up on the horizon that I'm feeling anxious about. It's a similar scenario that actually resulted with me shutting down in the past. But now, I think that path is no longer an option for me. I think this is the time for me to accept the challenge.

I have to admit, me being able to fulfill that role would feel very rewarding in the long run. However, I also know what's at stake. In the past, I have witnessed many people go through that same storm, and I know it's not easy. But I also have to recognize that they have emerged as stronger and more resilient versions of themselves after all the chaos. It makes me feel restless that I might retreat in the middle of that storm, and not make it to the other side alive.

Okay, that was a bit dramatic.😅This is the perfect time to bring out and use the tools that I have earned during those therapy sessions, especially during times when I overthink and spiral down imagining the worst scenarios. I have to weigh in on what's happening in reality versus what my mind's tricking me to believe. Also, I think the reason why I'm so drawn towards the energy of the moon is because I align with its nature -- I reflect back the energy that people give to me, similar to how the moon reflects the sun's energy. Currently, I'm enjoying where I'm at because I feel the high energy of the crowd. But in situations that I need to start the momentum to start the spark, hmm I believe that would be particularly challenging for me.

While that situation is still beyond my reach now (but will surely be in the next couple of months), I want to jot down my thoughts here so my future self can be reminded of, in case I get lost within the commotion and lose myself in the process:

  1. Break down tasks into bite-sized effort steps. 👣We always go back to the very theme of this blog -- one step at a time.  Things can become overwhelming so easily, and so to prevent from internally panicking, noting down the things that need to be done will be very useful.
  2. Prioritize. 🚨 Not everything is urgent. Go back to this TED talk when you need a reminder on how to manage your "busy" life.
  3. Pace yourself. 👟Following the same theme, not everything needs to be done all at once. Strategize each working session to prevent burnout.
  4. Set boundaries. 🔒Again, following that same theme, not everything needs to be done, by you. Protect your energy.
  5. Delegate. 🫱🫲Since not all things need to be done by you, find another person to work on it.
  6. Pray. 🙏 This is the most important one. There will be things that will be out of your control, and the best thing you can do is to pray... that the best outcome will happen.
And here I am cheering my future self: you can do this! 🎉For sure, you will learn a lot from this experience. Just enjoy the journey. 😄Always remember that there are people around you that will be there to support you every step of the way. Don't worry too much. Things will be more than okay in the end. 🍀
