Last night, the phenomenal kpop boy group Super Junior once again proved that they are Halyu superstars as they rocked in their concert in the SM MOA Arena as part of their SuperShow5 World Tour. It's already their third time to hold a major concert here, and each and every time, Filipino ELFS showed their over-all support to their idols. SuperShow5 is co-presented by Globe and e-PLUS.
To be honest, I did not really have plans of seeing the show (because of certain circumstances, I was saving up money for other things), but NuffnangPH served as a fairy godmother and provided us tickets for the concert!
This is a first for me and sis to be on the VIP area in a concert so this one was a real treat for us. It's my sister's first kpop concert too! :D

Whenever you feel down, there would always be a source of inspiration somewhere out there to help you get back up. These sources may come to you upfront, or in some situations, it's you who should find them.
In my case, whenever I lose the drive to live (i know, how morbid xD), I get fueled again by focusing on positive thoughts and positive people. :)
See No Evil
There are lots of helpful stuff online. Some of my favorites are marcandangel (which I have featured in the blog before), lifehacker (my most favorite site of them all!), and my newly discovered zenpencils.
Hear No Evil
I'm into podcasts. I love listening to something while on the road or when I feel sleepy at the office. My default choice is to listen to nice tracks in my playlist, but if I still get heavy-eyed with the music, I listen to the morning rush podcasts. I love these dj trio! I've seen them twice already (read my post during the first tmr book signing and when I visited them in the booth). Heaven knows how listening to the podcast saved me out of boredom and depression back in the days. I'll never get tired of listening to them. Even if I had already listened to one episode live while they're actually on-air, I still download the podcast and listen to it. And I still get to laugh at their jokes. The Morning Rush is the best morning radio show on earth.
Also, there's my Victory and TED Talks podcasts. The former gives me spiritual inspiration while the latter one feeds my mind with priceless knowledge.
Speak No Evil
You also need to surround yourself with positive people that can give you the best vibes for the day. If you manage to find one, you'll know they'll be for keeps.
These are my recipes for managing a happy and positive life. Make it yours too. :D

Remember this post about having a playlist to track your time preparing for work in the morning? I kind of brought that scheme back again, now that it's even more important to get out of the house early. I have tweaked the method a bit - I'm playing music upon entering the room after bath, because this is the part where I tend to slack time. I have 10 tracks in the playlist. My rule is that I have to be finished after four songs. So far, it's an effective way of being aware of the time, and bragging aside (or not xD), I usually arrive at the office 15 minutes before my shift.
For the past months, I have changed this playlist twice (because it would be tiring to listen to those same songs again and again). Then I thought, why not do this every three months? So this will be a quarterly thing.
Here's my current playlist (I am still working on a new set):
Applause - Lady Gaga
Fantasy - Xia (준수)
Heaven - Ailee
Incredible - Xia (준수) feat. Quincy
Love on Top - Beyonce
Titanium - David Guetta feat. Sia
True Love - Pink feat. Lily Rose Cooper
Try - Amber Carrington ver.
Without U - David Guetta feat. Usher
Roar - Katy Perry
These are songs that I really love listening to. They kind of give me the energy and drive that I need in the morning. :)
[UPDATE]
Here's my new set of playlist! :D
Chocolate Girl - Xia (준수)
Back for Good - Take That
Love Me - Katy Perry
Lovefool - The Cardigans
She's So High - Tal Bachman
Burn - Ellie Goulding
October Rain - Roy Kim
Only One - JYJ
Stay the Night - Zed feat. Hayley Williams
More to Life - Stacy Orrico
This is my way of making my day a bit interesting, starting with the music I hear in the morning. Good vibes!

Ever had that feeling of wanting to escape from reality, like snap out of the monotonous habits that you have and just get out there, explore for something more?
I had that exact feeling upon waking up this morning. My mind was running along lots of different excuses not to go to work today. However nothing seemed to fit and they all made no sense so I had no choice but to get up and prepare for the day. It's yet another work week ahead.
I wanted to do something different today, but I am tied to the responsibilities that I have in the society. In the middle of all the things that happen everyday, I suddenly felt this urge to pause, breath and think. Is this it? Is this how things would pass for me? I feel like I am missing everything about life, that I am not making the most out of it.
Sometimes I think, why do I exist? Why does this world exist? Contemplating within this train of thought always makes my mind ache, like it seems the answers are beyond the human mind to comprehend. This scenario kind of reminds me of this character in The Night Circus novel by Erin Morgenstern, Tara, the other half of the Burgess twins. If you've read the book, you know what happened to her in the story. To think deeply about life makes me enlightened and depressed at the same time. That's why to push away senseless thoughts, I just keep myself busy with things, and just go with the flow. Before I know it, I would be drifting away again with the usual wave of everyday life.
So much for these bubble of thoughts (maybe it's because it's a Monday). And yeah, I think I need some kind of inspiration.
With that, I will rewatch Randy Pausch's The Last Lecture. Good thing I have a copy on the hard drive.
(... and after an hour, I found myself bawling my eyes out of inspiration from the talk... and the last few sentences still gave me goosebumps. )

Website designing can become a tough job if you don't yet have an idea on what you really want to do on the site. These days, even non-programmers sometimes get into designing stuff to personalize the look of their social networking pages. Good thing even if you don't really understand those codes of HTML and CSS, there are a lot of sites out there that can help you.

Just one look on the website and I already knew I could trust this one. Their site itself says a lot on how they work! I love the layout of their site and this really shows that they know what they are doing. This site helped me on tweaking things for the navigation menu of my blog.
Finding the perfect combination of palettes to suit your site's theme can be a headache. Good thing this site is a life saver! It lets you upload an image and then generates a set of palette that complements the colors on your image. I am so happy I found a site like this. Ingenious!
These two websites helped me in redesigning my blog. These might also work for you. Go check them out! :)
The period of the late 90's pop songs will not be complete without including this one song of a girl who plays a moving piano. Of course who doesn't know Vanessa Carlton's phenomenal song A Thousand Miles? Most of you might have just known her for that big-hit song (especially if you have watched that White Chicks flick) but for me, she's everything that pulled me into music, especially in playing the piano.
Like everybody else, I first known her as this girl who effortlessly hit notes on her piano on that moving vehicle. Upon seeing the song's music video on tv (oh how I miss MTV Philippines!), I got hooked. Up to this day, that song is my most favorite. If my life was a movie, I want that song to be played in the ending credits. I have A LOT of memories contained on that song, and I cherish them all whenever I hear it. Find me weird, but I don't want to really hear it often because I don't want to have its special meaning to wear off in the long run.
Each of her songs became a soundtrack of each of my life since then. Her voice together with the piano become heavenly music to my ears. Her songs were also my source of inspiration during my tough times back then. I held on to each of her songs.
I attached happy memories of highschool days to White Houses.
I have been practicing yoga for quite sometime now. Ever since I took it as a PE during college, I became drawn to it. Good thing our class back then required us to have our own yoga mat. Now I have something to use every time I practice on my own at home.
The Best Fit for Me
Yoga is the kind of exercise that I was looking for all along. Before, I have been searching for a kind of workout that I can do indoors and that demands only a little space. Jogging was never an option for me. I don't want my neighbors to know me as this girl who passes by their houses running on a quiet Sunday morning. No one really jogs at our neighborhood so it was uncomfortable for me to do something like that in our area.
Lack of Consistency
From time to time, I practice yoga after work. However, most of the time I fail to do so because I was feeling too tired (or too lazy). I can see that I am not really making any progress on mastering the poses. Also, I was stuck with the set of poses that I have learned in my PE class. Moreover practicing yoga would have helped a lot also in making me lose weight, but I was not making any signs to move forward.
The Perfect Opportunity
I am so happy I was able to attend this one Wellness Talk that we had in the office: Stress Management Workshop. I was not (yet xD) really stressed about my work but I got curious because the talk included tips about yoga and meditation and how it can improve our over-all well being. I learned in the talk later on that a yoga studio is actually located near our office and we can have classes there from experienced trainors. I was very thrilled about it. Two weeks after, I found myself taking my first yoga class at yoga+.
Yoga+ Makati Branch is just a few distance walk from my office. Since I get out of work early, I managed to go to their classes in the afternoon. During this week, I was able to try their Flow, Hot B and Jivamukti classes. After taking the first two classes, my body was aching all over. I have never felt so much muscle pain in my life like this. My neck, shoulders, arms, waist, thighs, and legs were aching! Despite of that, I still pursued on my third class. Yoga makes me feel a different kind of relaxation after each session. I would find myself calm and invigorated everytime I step out of the studio. I feel more energetic after the 1 1/2 hour class unlike when I get home straight from work. It truly relaxed not just my body, but my mind too.
New Poses to Master
Before, I always thought I could self-study yoga. However, I was wrong. It really helps when you have a teacher to guide you. They instruct you step-by-step on how to do the poses. They also get to correct you. Also, having a teacher around allows you to learn new poses.
Speaking of that, I learned the following poses (and more!) during my classes this week and I am planning to include them into the 30-minute yoga routine that I have:
There are a lot of areas that I need to work on. Good thing I have fresh knowledge now from my instructors at yoga+.
I will to return on the mat again soon. Namaste!
