I love my smart phone. It has been my buddy for doing lots of things -- from getting the latest updates on social networks and blogs, to organizing things that I need to do, and to discovering music from new artists.
The following are the applications that I frequently use on my phone which you might find useful too:
There are many good camera applications available in the market. One of the best app there (that is for free by the way) is Camera 360. It has lots of effects that can be applied to the photo like Enhance, LOMO, Light Color, HDR, Retro, Sketch, Dreamlike. Through the updates, it even added new effects like the Magic Skin and Huge Head. One of its photo effects, the Ghost, entertained me for some time because it inserts ghost images in your photos to create a creepy effect. :D
I tried imitating the dish that one of my fellow officemates bought us one weekend when we did overtime. It was good, and it's actually very easy to do. :)
Taste Buds Rating : ★★★ (3/5)
It's tasted okay, though I think I still need to add more spices on it. :)
After months of reading how-to's and watching tutorials, here comes my first daylight "out-of-house" photography adventure! Aside from the fact that it was my first time to come to this amusement park, the trip made me more enthusiastic because I knew there a lot of great things there to be captured on photo.
~PROPER LIGHTING~
My first mistake. Can you spot the difference? |
It was my first time to visit this amusement park. Located in Sta. Rosa Laguna, it's merely a two-hour drive south of Manila.
The beautiful fairy-tale-like designed entrance of the park |
I've always heard of this though I was not able to visit it during my childhood. xD
Here are the rides and attractions that we were able to visit:
A colleague gave this as a gift. I totally LOL-ed when I read what's on the mug.
Well, this is the situation that I just have to accept for now, until the right time comes.

I reviewed the initial goals that I listed here when I started to create this blog. Some of them are still applicable as of today, but there are some that I believe have been excluded from my list of priorities. So as soon as this entry is posted, changes in my goal list will take effect and will now be composed of the following:
[☾] be a good astroscenic photographer
[✔] finish the Dong Bang Island 2nd Anniversary Memorabilia
[♬] learn to play the piano
[♨] learn to cook
[❦] diet
[☉] learn to develop an Android app
[☯] learn to write and speak in Korean (Hangul) *new*
I am suspending my attempt to learn Japanese for now, because Hangul has taken my interest more recently. I believe this is way easier to learn than Japanese. And besides, this is the language of several of my favorite musicians (JYJ, TVXQ! and 2NE1). I also watch some tv series from Korea so this will be extremely helpful.
Meanwhile, I am totally cancelling my idea of making a trip to Korea itself. Because of recent events, I have realized that I really don't have enough money yet to think of ways of splurging it. I need to save enough first to have a sense of security. Until then, I will focus on saving the money for more important things.
I am targetting to fulfill all of these goals (and more!) this year.
Aim high! :D

I am falling in love with this cafe.
I discovered Advocafe just a few weeks ago. I've dined twice, and I say I prefer this more than those Chinese restaurants that I've been through within the area.
At first look, the cafe have this sophisticated atmosphere which I think made us aloof of the place. Good thing our project manager brought us there when we did weekend overtime work. Actually, the food there is cheap, even cheaper than the meals that we usually buy at neighboring stores.

They also have an awsome-looking site. FTW. |

I was again exploring the interwebs for some recipes for my next cooking session, and I found this breakfast recipe on Lifehacker that fries an egg within a slice of bread! It was so visually appealing that I needed to try it out. :D~
Taste Buds Rating: ★ ★ ★ (3/5)
It tasted good, but all the butter was absorbed by the bread so I find this not that healthy to eat. :O

One of the amazing things that you can do with a DSLR is configuring the shutter speed to make it capture images as fast as possible, and one beautiful subject to demonstrate is flowing water.
The DSLR can be set to up to shutter speed 1/4000, with flash up to 1/200 (for a Canon 550D).
Here is my test shot for demonstrating this effect.
shooting settings: f/5.6, 1/200sec, ISO-400 |
I know this is not a very likely and glamorous subject. This is the first candidate that I laid my eyes upon so I just well took the shot.
Last March 14, the planetary arrangement of our solar system caused one very rare astronomical event to happen, that is -- the very close conjunction of two of the brightest planet as seen from Earth, Jupiter and Venus.
For the last several weeks, the two objects moved gradually closer every night.
At the start of the month of March, the planet pairing can be spotted in the sky a few minutes after sunset, and the night of March 14 is their closest, after which these two would gradually move again to opposite directions across the night sky.
It is indeed an eye-catching sight in the night sky.
For actual images of the pairing, visit a friend of mine's astronomy blog.
*Unfortunately I was not able to see the closest position of the pairing during that night because I have work and the Western sky was blocked from my view. T^T
