With the ever continuing rise of influence of Korean culture in the country, the influx of establishments that cater K-foods has been inevitable. We know the story already -- a lot of Korean restaurants have popped up everywhere, offering delectable choices of those cuisines that we see in those K-dramas that we craved for. Lucky for us, there are a lot of these foods available and are just an order away.
With the number of options, we have to filter out the best out of them, right? I'm lucky because I have found a gem for Korean fried chicken through Samsam Chikin. It was more of word-of-mouth that I got to know this latest raving that everyone (at least on my Instagram timeline) was talking about.
When I first ordered from them, it was during their soft launch week and they were having a Buy 1 Take 1 promo. In the first few days, I saw in the comments that Samsam Chikin was encountering challenges in catering to the huge number of orders. As much as I already wanted to get a taste of this chicken, I patiently waited for the initial wave to die down. Well, the influx of customers to them was already saying something, so I knew that I shouldn't give up. 💪 I placed my order a week after through their website. The earliest delivery slot available was during the weekend already (it was only Monday that time). Oh well, patience is a virtue. And so I completed my advance order and waited for the weekend to arrive.
And wow, it was all worth the wait. Given that I already had high expectations for this chicken, it still was able to exceed them all after finally getting to taste it.

They have 5 flavors in total. Good thing they have their half/half boxes, I got to try all of their flavors! My favorite is Gochujang. 🍗🤤 This is the perfect 치맥 meal!
I haven't tried the other stores that also sells Korean fried chicken, but I think these are the reasons why Samsam Chickin stands out (for me at least):
- the interesting flavors
- chicken were aesthetically appealing
- very flavorful sauce, and you just know that they didn't hold back with the seasonings
- breading is crispy
- the flavor seeps through the meat
- it's boneless!
- the serving size is just perfect
Even though I wasn't able to avail this during their BOGO, it was still worth the price, given the food quality. This is not a sponsored post so to Samsam Chikin, beke nemen! 🤣
