I've been a fan of Lasema for years. Since my first visit in 2012, I've fallen in love with this spa because it really provides its customers the authentic jjimjilbang /찜질방/ (Korean bathhouse) experience! I've went several times since then and I enjoyed every single visit!

I heard the news that Lasema would do a relocation so I didn't think of visiting it again for sometime. But then last week, my colleagues remembered that they would be opening again! True enough when we checked their Facebook page, they were already on soft opening since the month of January! Immediately, we decided to schedule our visit there!

New and Improved Lasema
Me and my friends were so excited to finally do a visit because by just looking at their FB page, you can already tell that this is going to be a whole new experience. Lasema now has their own new building and their facilities span 3 floors! They've also added a lot of new services too like a noraebang /노래방/ (Korean videoke)!

Old patrons of Lasema will be delighted to know that it's still the same spa we have come to love, it just became even better. I cannot emphasize enough how excited I was upon entering the female locker room, because it's so big now! I really love their wooden doors!

They now have more than 5 hot pools in the wet area! I was so amazed. In their old location, they only had 3 pools. This is really such a nice upgrade that they did!

They have a new service called Sitz Bath, wherein you sit on a chair with a hole in the middle and underneath it is a pot with steam coming out. They say this is healthy and sterilizes your private parts. I wasn't able to try this though (I might on my next visit!), and I think there's an additional fee to avail this service.

Just last night, me and a close friend went to this spa in Makati -  Lasema Jjim Jil Bang Spa. It's a Korean spa, just like those that are being shown in dramas. We were both fond of kpop and kdramas so we were very excited when we learned that Lasema was having a promo for a whole package of their services and we didn't have second thoughts in availing it.

Overnight Spa
Since the package includes a 12-hour stay at the  Jjim Jil Bang Spa, we decided to maximize it. Straight from our day work, we went to Lasema at around 11PM. At the front desk, we were given our number, locker keys, clothes (matching shirt and shorts) and a small towel. Footwears are not allowed inside so we removed and carried our shoes to the locker area. The floor is made of wood and the area is clean and being barefoot is comfortable.

I really enjoyed the first time I went to this Korean spa. There was a promo again that's why my friend and I did not let this opportunity pass. We availed of the full-package promo voucher (Sauna + Jjim Jil Bang + Massage).

Same Routine
Just like the first time, we scheduled our visit on a Friday at 11PM so that we could maximize our 12-hour stay at the Dry Sauna. It's also nice to stay overnight because there are only a few people there (and most of them just sleep during those hours) so you have all the freedom and privacy to roam around and stay at the wet and dry sauna rooms, and the ice room. We chose the Swedish massage and I'd say I prefer this than the Shiatsu-Swedish massage combination that I tried before. It was more relaxing and the strokes were more gentle. There's even a foot scrub massage included! I love the smell of their massage oils. Apparently they sell these by P200/bottle, which I think would be enough for 3-4 massage sessions.

New Discoveries
We were able to discover areas of Lasema that we did not get to visit before. The Common Room, which is a small room with long black chairs that could be lied on, has this shelf filled with mangas (they're all written in Korean unfortunately xD) and a small aquarium in the middle with fish swimming in it. We also got to sleep in one of the caves in the Sleeping Area. We again ate ramen, grilled eggs, and iced shikhye, and tried some new ones - gimbaps and patbingsu (which is like halo-halo).

There's also some cute figurines showing the traditional costumes of Korea. I didn't see these before. Maybe they're new?

I cannot believe 2024 is already coming to an end, and today is the last day! 🫨 It feels surreal how quickly a year can pass by, and I am so happy and grateful for the many great things that happened this year, along with new adventures, new experiences, and, of course, lessons learned. I want to honor those blessings and lessons that I have gained this year through this post. So, let's go through the events of the year and highlight the significant events that occurred for me! ☺️🙌
