BORACAY 2014 [#1]: The Travel By Air, Land and Sea

June 08, 2014

It's been more than three months since I have laid eyes to the beauty of the beach paradise of Boracay. Up until now it feels like a dream. Everything went smoothly as planned. Together with my sis and mom, we relaxed for 3 days and 2 nights in the island.

Our Boracay getaway included a lot of first-time experience -- my first trip to Visayas, first time to ride a plane, and first trip with sis and mom. I guess what made this trip a lot special  is the fact that this is mine and my sister's way of treating our mom out. Mom has always been at home only and rarely goes out to chillax so this trip was our gift to her. :D

Aboard the plane! Ack, I was blinded by the light! This shot was hurriedly done before we went up the plane.
It was my first time to ride the plane! I was not really that hyped but I knew this was something to look forward to.

Luckily, I was seated by the window. ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
Few minutes after we have seated, I heard the flight attendants tell us to be ready for flight. The plane began to move.

The plane started to take speed. It was roughly 20 seconds (yes I was counting in my head) before the plane became airborne. The view from the window was breathtaking! The roads started to zoom out, then came the houses next. They became smaller and smaller until I could already see the shoreline of the city!

Seconds later, the scenery I saw was like taken straight from my dreamland!

CLOUDS! (´ ▽`).。o♡
It was all clouds everywhere! I was so happy! :D For a person who's fascinated with seeing these fluffy white things in the sky, it's a whole new perspective now that I am actually below them. It was exhilarating!

After a while, we began to see islands below.

It was like looking on Google Earth. But this is the real thing!

mind-blowing scenery!
When we first saw this island, we thought it was already Boracay. :)) Checking on the map, it's just actually Romblon.

Looks like Romblon has some nice white-beaches too. :D
After less than an hour, we arrived on Kalibo Airport. From there, it was a two-hour bus ride to the port where we would be riding a boat to reach the island of Boracay.

Land and sea transfers c/o Southwest Tours!

I was not able to shoot a photo of the boat that we got on, but it somehow looked like the one below.

My view from the boat. I was at the side of the window again. xD
It was an enclosed boat (dunno really what to call it) with around 150-passenger capacity.

Here's a closer photo (credits to owner).

Traveling across the ocean. :D

After ~15 minutes, we arrived on the island! A shuttle service picked us up from the port. We traveled for another 20 minutes before we reached our resort. :D

In total, it was almost 3 hours of travel on air, land and sea. :D

~o~

next post: food trip in the island!
