Sentence Drills /한글 공부/ [☯ ~ #6]

December 16, 2017

안녕하세요! It's Hangeul learning time again! I am really getting serious into learning Korean (which I should have actually started a long time ago when I was still really addicted to KPOP/KDramas). Well I am proud of myself that I am doing great progress with this goal, which is actually part of my original goals for this blog (which I wrote 6 years ago 😅). But it's better late than never, right?

Up to today, I have accomplished the following milestones for my goal of learning Korean:

  • finished (and passed!) Korean 1 @ the University of the Philippines, Diliman ~ I returned to my alma mater and became a student again for a few months.
  • bought books from TalkToMeInKorean ~ I am planning to self-study for now, then return again to actual formal classes later.
  • learned how to type in Korean ~ I am planning to post more on this blog in Hangeul and I figured I needed to memorize the Hangeul keyboard layout. 😀
  • finished Level 1 lessons at TalkToMeInKorean ~ This is my refresher before starting to study the books I bought.
In relation to that last accomplishment, I thought of exercising the new skills I acquired by building sentences in Korean! When I was young, I really liked writing stories and dialogues in English, which I guess made me learn English easier. So I am doing the same for Korean.

So here it goes!

Dialogues
A: 그거 뭐에요? [What is that?]
B:아, 이거 사과에요. [Oh, this is an apple.]
A: 사과를 좋아해요? [Do you like apples?]
B: 내, 정말 좋아해요. 맜있어요. [Yes, I really like it. It's delicious.]
A: 대박. 👍[That's great.]
~
A: 누가 도착했어요? [Did someone come?]
B: 몰라요, 진짜 안 알아요. [I don't know. I really don't know.]
A: 아, 그래요. [Ah, I see.]
~
A: 아저씨! 맥주 있어요? [Sir! Do you have beer?]
B: 내, 맥주 있어요. [Yes, we have beer.]
A: 얼마예요? [How much?]
B: 오천 원이에요. [5,000 Won]
A: 그럼, 세 병 주세요.  [Then, give me 3 bottles please.]

Building Sentences
거실에 두 창문 있어요. [There are two windows in the living room.]
저녁 가티 해요. [Let's get out for dinner.]

~o~

I know the sentences were kinda random. I find it a bit challenging for now to express ideas in Korean because of my limited vocabulary, so that's it for now.

Time to go to the next level of studying Korean! 😀
