Q2 2020 Goals Setting & Steps

May 11, 2020

With all that's happening in the world today, I honestly couldn't really set my goals for the quarter with a 100% solid motivation, because I couldn't move too far into the future. Do you know that feeling when you have a huge trip happening in the future and you just can't see life beyond that event? That's what I'm feeling right now with the covid-19 pandemic. I'm taking things day by day so as not to overwhelm myself that much.

And so for this quarter, I'm putting down fewer goals that I know will be most significant for me today and into the future:

👩‍💼 Career
I'm still pushing through with my plans.

🏋️‍♀️Physical and Health
Lower body fat average by 5%

🎓 Educational
Build a marketable skillset outside my profession

For now, I'll stick with these first. There are A LOT of initiatives that I am documenting on the bullet journal that is not here so I'm actually joggling a lot at the moment. Well, I realized having a busy mind will prevent me from overthinking. I don't know when I'll go back to reporting to the office for work, so for now I'lll have to stick with the work-from-home setup.

Last night, my mind went down that downward spiral again. It didn't help that it's too hot so I couldn't really sleep comfortably. My mind was whispering nonsensical things again, and it's making me feel not okay again. It's been months since my mind went down that narrative. Fortunately this time, I have the tools to counter those thoughts. I'm just worried that if this current quarantine setup continues, my inner demons would finally catch up with me. But I can't let that happen. I need to practice self-compassion. Note to self -- please rewatch this video if you need to calibrate your mindset again.
