Seoul Trip 2015: Day 2 ~ Petite France (쁘띠프랑스) [★]

May 31, 2015

After the nature walk at Nami Island, our second stop at Gapyeong is Petite France!

Petite France
is a French cultural village which has a memorial hall for Saint-Exupery, who is the author of The Little Prince. A number of Korean dramas and reality shows were shot in here that's why it is famous among international fans.

Beethoven Virus, Secret Garden, My Love from the Star,
and Running Man are among the shows that were filmed here.

You can reach the place via the Gapyeong shuttle bus just a few minutes from Nami Island. The regular rate for adults is ₩8,000 but we were able to get discount vouchers online so we only paid ₩6,000 won each for our entrance.

Petite France is basically composed of several colorful houses. Some have exhibits inside and some are shops with food and souvenirs.

We were able to watch a Marionette show in the outdoor theater.

Unfortunately, we were not able to finish the show because it was sunset already and we still wanted to look around.

We saw posters of My Love From The Star drama, so of course we took pictures of us with them. Here's one of them.

After taking a few photos did we notice something's wrong with the setup. Apparently we are supposed to step on that block (highlighted on the photo xD) and pretend that we are Cheon Song Yi being embraced on the shoulder by Do Min Joon!

Here's my sister doing it right. (*≧▽≦)ノシ))
There's a lot of Little Prince stuff around the place. Some are a bit creepy in my opinion.

There are also cute murals where you can take pictures with.

Everyone is busy taking pictures!

crowd shot @ Petite France :D

Looks familiar? This is the exact spot where Do Min Joon and Cheon Song Yi kissed in the Man from the Stars drama!

The place closes pretty early. At 6PM, only a few people were still there and the shops were closing up one by one. We eventually left to catch the last trip of the Gapyeong bus.

We went down at the Cheongpyeong Station bus stop and rode the subway station back to Myeongdong.

Honestly there was not much to see in Petite France. Though if you are a fan of the dramas then it would be fascinating to see the actual filming location. But if you are not, I recommend to skip this one and just visit other places of interest in Seoul. Just my two cents there.

And that ends our second day in Seoul! It was again one tiring day (with all the walking!) but it's totally worth it. :D
