Q1 2020 Goals Evaluation

April 04, 2020

It's crazy how the whole world's perspective can change in 3 months. As for me, the goals that I have set in the first quarter this year obviously shifted to a newer direction because of the recent state of our country and of the world. With that in mind, I would just like to tell myself some things:

Hey self, it's okay if you have not focused that much on your Q1 goals. It's okay to pause and have some sad moments. It's important to acknowledge the fear and anxiety that you are feeling. I know you are doing your best to distract yourself with work and daily tasks (I must say you are doing a great job 👏), but it is important also to give your mind some space to recognize some emotions that you are feeling within. I know that your defense mechanism all your life is repressing negative emotions, but it's not the healthiest process for all situations. Have those moments of silence. Cry if you must. Let it all out. Then move forward with a braver heart. Assess the situation. I know you're an expert in logical thinking. Separate the facts versus the irrational feelings that your mind is feeding you. You have to be strong for your family. They need you the most now.

Although we are all being cautionary in maintaining good physical health, it's also equally important to take care of our mental health. 😊

And with that, let's return to the main point of this post. So how far have we come based on the goals that were set for the first quarter of this year?

🏃‍♀️ Career - plan plan plan [5 /11]
Although initially I thought of aborting this one, I revisited this goal again, and decided that I still need to pursue this, more now than ever because I think I'll be needing to support more people from now on. Let's not close our doors for new opportunities.

🏃‍♀️ Financial - allot some pieces of the pie for ^ [1/11]
I know I fell short with this one, but I know I still need to continue this, as this goes hand-in-hand with my first goal.

🏃‍♀️ Personal Development - 다시 한국어 공부해요 [6/11]
This will continue. I have added this to my daily habit  tracker for April.

🏃‍♀️ Spiritual - pick up that book and follow the path [3/11]
Another one to continue 'til next month (added that on my tracker). I just want to finish reading the whole book so I could incorporate the lessons to my daily life.

🏃‍♀️ Educational - gear up with knowledge for that goal [0/11]
LOL I forgot to add this on my goals tracker, so I won't have credits for this one. Well the least that I have done for this goal were: identification of the skill sets needed + the resources where I could learn them.

🛑  Relationship - form new connections outside [5/11]
Obviously this one needs to be aborted, because of the virus. LOL. I couldn't remember the 5 steps forward that I got to do for this one, but one specific step I could recall is being able to attend to a Toastmaster session online. It was a bit unnerving to talk to a new category of people, but I bet you I learned something from my conversations with them.

🏆 Physical and Health - lose not maintain [5/11]
I'm tagging this as accomplished because I was able to build some healthy habits during the quarantine: daily abs exercise, yoga routine, and healthier food selections (more veggies, with coke zero and dark chocolate as my only splurges!). Since I am now regularly doing workouts, I am focusing more on lowering my body fat percentage, rather than just tracking my weight per se. Also, I have been tracking my measurements also (especially the waistline! 😅). Also I'm decreasing my intermittent fasting scheme to just 13:11. Let's see how we'll progress from here.

I haven't ironed out what my top-of-mind goals will be for the next quarter. So I'll give myself some time to reflect on things.

Stay safe everyone!
