Seoul Trip 2015: Day1 ~ Gyeongbokgung (경복궁) Palace [★]

April 08, 2015

Our way to the palace involved going to the subway, which is an exciting part for us. We downloaded the Jihachul app for Android and it served as our guide for the rest of our subway trips. :D

According to the app, from Myeongdong station in Line 4, we have to travel to Chungmuro then transfer to Line 3. Then we'll travel Daehwabound and hop off at the Gyeongbokgung station.

There are signs like these on most subway trains, making it easy to navigate your way to your destination via the subway. :D

We went out of exit 5 to the palace.

On our way out, we saw this cherry blossom tree in full bloom.

our first cherry blossom sighting!
Sakura is beautiful. (T^T)

After a few steps, here we are at the palace!

Admission fee for adults is ₩3,000.

We got our tickets! Yay! (Derp face lol, the wind was strong during that day)

We arrived just in time for the Changing of the Guards ceremony, so we stayed at the entrance for a bit to watch the show.

After the Changing of the Guards ceremony, we went inside the Gyeongbokgung palace to explore the place.

We saw more cherry blossom trees inside the palace! We hurriedly approached them and took photos!

Thanks to the kind unnie who took this photo for us. Yay! (though it's a bit blurry haha)

There are lots of picturesque sceneries around so we just spent our time doing poses and capturing the beauty of nature here.

Here I am doing some blogger poses as directed by my sister. Haha!

At the heart of the palace is the emperor's throne, which has been preserved over the centuries. Amazing, right?

After doing a few rounds around the palace, we decided it's time to go and move on with our itinerary. Our visit to the Bukchon village is up next! :D
